[조약 Treaty] 고문방지협약 후속조치 평가 CAT Follow-up Report Assessment

UN 고문방지협약위원회는 2019년 2월 15일 뒤늦게 제출된 대한민국 정부의 최종견해 이행 보고서를 평가한 결과를 2019년 6월 27일 채택하여 정부에 송달했습니다. 특히 군내 폭력 문제에 대해 B2 등급을 부여하며 국방옴부즈만(군인권보호관)의 권능 등에 대해서 기술하지 않은 바에 대해 유감을 표했습니다.

The Committee appreciates the information provided by the State party on its efforts aimed at establishing an office of the Military Ombudsman, but regrets that the State party's follow-up report does not elaborate on the Ombudsman's power to conduct investigations into allegations of abuse and violence in the military.
